Executive Movements November 2007
ATLANTA — CHERYL A. BACHELDER, a one-time president
of KFC, has been named chief executive of AFC
ENTERPRISES INC. and president of its 1,878-unit POPEYES
CHICKEN & BISCUITS chain. She replaces interim CEO
FREDERICK B. BEILSTEIN. Bachelder, 51, who has been a
member of AFC’s board since November 2006, was chief concept
officer and president of Yum! Brands Inc.’s KFC from 2001 to
2003, with oversight of all U.S. outlets. Since resigning from KFC
about four years ago, Bachelder has worked as an executive coach
and consultant. In addition to its U.S. system, Popeyes is franchisor
of outlets in Puerto Rico, Guam and 23 foreign countries.
PLANO, Texas — METROMEDIA RESTAURANT GROUP said Tuesday that it had named ROBERT HOFFMAN president of its family-steakhouse group, which includes more than 300 BONANZA and PONDEROSA restaurants. He replaces GARY SCHNEIDER, who left to pursue other opportunities, the company said. The appointment marks a return to MRG for Hoffman, who worked in a variety of roles for the company from 1983 to 1994. Hoffman later founded RJH Hospitality Consulting LLC in 2000 and
has served as senior vice president of Tanner’s Corner Grill and vice president of operations and training for Miami Subs Grill. MRG, based here, also is parent to the Bennigan’s and Steak and Ale concepts.
