3 Great Reasons to Work with a Recruiter

Not so long ago, recruiters were known as “headhunters,” a not-so-kind term that was admittedly earned by an unscrupulous generation of short-sighted individuals. Today’s professional recruiters provide a valuable service between two busy sides of an always fluctuating equation.

Modern recruiters serve as a filter for the employer by bringing them only qualified candidates, and they serve as a valuable resource for you, the candidate, because they guide you straight to the right job for you. Franci Eisenberg, senior executive and technical recruiter with Professional Recruiters, explains, “Recruiters often have valuable insight about the company and can provide job candidates with valuable insight into what a firm is looking for in order to fill the position.”

Still not convinced working with a recruiter is right for you? Try these 3 additional reasons why working with a recruiter might just solve your hiring dilemma:

1. Been there; done that. Ever looked back on an experience and wished you could go back in time and do it all over again? Recruiters can do that for you. They’ve been where you are – and know what you’re going through. They can
save you months of trial and error by helping you NOT reinvent the wheel.

2. Friends with benefits. A recruiter is your personal port in the storm; there for both emotional and professional support. While not every recruiter-candidate relationship turns into a buddy film, it’s definitely a friendship – with benefits.

3. An inside job. In the successful job search, information is often the difference between an interview and being ignored. Who has the most information? Your recruiter. He or she knows who is hiring, when and for what. By using this“inside information” to pair you as the right candidate with the right job at the right employer, your recruiter becomes a most valuable ally.

In my new book, The Hitchhiker in the Corner Office, I show candidates the value of working with a recruiter. See what I’ve told them when you check out the book’s website at http://www.hitchhikerinthecorneroffice.com.
