Executive Chat with Rebecca Patt - Featuring Carlos Bernal, President of Rice Garden Carlos Bernal is cultivating a crop of successful Asian QSRs as President of the 56-unit chain Rice Garden.
The concept began nearly 16 years ago at a Lucky's Supermarket in Long Beach when three entrepreneurs brought new recipes and branding to an existing Asian QSR. Bernal joined Rice Garden in June of 2009 following its acquisition by Arbor Investments.
Half of Rice Garden's locations are inside of supermarkets, and the others are within casinos, colleges and universities, office buildings, and inline shopping centers. The restaurants are located throughout 10 states, primarily in the West.
All of Rice Garden's recipes come from Executive Chef Andy Fong, one of the original founders, and all of the ingredients and sauces are made fresh daily.
